Our Learning
In Autumn 1, we will be focusing on Art and History for our learning journey enquiries.
In Art, our golden thread is still life and we will be drawing still life objects, like apples, using wax pastels. Our aim is to make our drawings look realistic and demonstrate our skills of observation and realism, using light and shadow to achieve this.
In History, we will be learning about the Ancient Greeks – our golden thread is how people lived, looking at the housing and living conditions of people at the time. Our class novels for this half term will be linked to our history focus.
In Maths, we will continue learning about place value and the four fundamental arithmetic operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
PE
We have PE on Wednesdays and Fridays. Children to wear their PE kits to school on these days.

Forest School
We have Forest School on Thursday afternoons. Children to come in appropriate clothing and footwear.

Home Learning
This will be sent out on a Friday, to be completed for the following Friday. It will include: dates for your diary, spellings, reading, and activities linked to our current learning enquiry and maths unit.

Multiplication Facts
Use Times Tables Rock Stars to practise times tables fluency.

Reading
Children are expected to read for 15 minutes each day. Books can be chosen from the class or school library, or one from home if they prefer.
We use the Sparx Reader app to log our reading and answer comprehension questions.

Spellings
Set weekly as part of home learning and tested on Friday.
